What problem does your solution solve?
A potential problem customers may have is that the tutoring may not be of the highest quality. This is because our platform currently allows anyone to be tutored and any tutor can get hours by selecting a student in our queue system. We will solve this by not only implementing pre-requisites to be a tutor such as GPA and SAT/ACT scores but we will also eliminate bad tutors through our rating system. If a tutor is consistently getting negative reviews they will be banned.
What’s the market potential for your solution?
There is a huge marketing potential for TutorMeFree. TutorMeFree is different because we have two markets, a market for Students and a market for Tutors. The market grows as the population grows because every kid in america has the right to education. the tutoring industry is a $7 billion industry and this price may be higher because of undisclosed private tutoring. Students will now have access to free tutoring which we allows us to expect exponential growth. As long as schools require community service and students want to help out society we expect our tutors growth to follow the same pace.
Who are your customers?
Our customers are Students. Our platform is designed to help benefit students who cannot afford tutoring, however this does not mean everybody else cant use it. We "sell" directly to these students, but they aren't buying anything because the service is free. We do however expect a large portion of our tutoring set-ups to be instigated by parents. This mean we will promote to students who want to learn and parents who want their children to learn.
How will you reach your customers?
Our main way we will reach our customers is through viral marketing.
How will you make money?
We will make money in 3 different ways. The most primary form of revenue is ad based revenue. The website will have a couple of non obstructive ads to generate profit. This means that not only will our students generate profit from us, it means anyone who visits the website including our tutors. A large part of ad revenue is from clicks on the ad, we will promote this by implementing a 30 second video before making an apportionment to help further revenue. We will also make money from sponsorship. We are hoping to receive sponsors of all types, scholarship sponsors, whiteboard sponsors etc. This not only creates a great brand image for a company but helps TutorMeFree get more students tutored. The last form is from the kind donations of people who want to help.
What will your expenses include?
Our expenses are very minimal and can be broken down into three categories. One category is development cost, this is the cost that is going into developing the website, tutoring platform, legal advice etc. The second category is the upkeep/maintenance cost. These are costs that ensure a smooth user experience by paying for high quality servers and a small team or person to ensure site security/health. Lastly the last category is advertisement. Our main form of advertisement is viral marketing so this money will go toward creating a large social media presence, SEO, and contacting school districts to help introduce our tutoring system to their students.
