What problem does your solution solve?
With the notion held that the youth is the most quintessential aspect of the future I find it to be my civil duty to ensure that the teens and young adults be properly educated. Coming from a background in which no one in my high school could name a Senator, City Councilman and sometimes even the Mayor, I realized the was a blatant divide in the education of voters in which the youth (specifically in those getting ready to vote and those who recently are able to vote) lack the same education their older counterparts have. This program with actively work to affirm the idea that the youth’s voice is not only one of value but it is heard clearly. Which is why I realize to do so, the youth must be adequately educated without a bias on issues they are passionate about while also being able to discuss it in a calm, inclusive, and diverse environment to challenge their thoughts and possible reinforce what they believe in and why.
What’s the market potential for your solution?
A vast majority of teenagers today are apolitical, meaning that they do not care about politics or they are not involved. Now it may not seem like it due to the fact we’ve accepted this as normal but, this is a widespread issue throughout the United States this may lead to future conflicts. One of which is, teenager following the mob mentality that is commonly associated with young people where they act a way because their friends do or they believe what they believe in because the people around them do.
Who are your customers?
We are targeted specifically to young people aged 16-24 but, anyone can really get behind the message of informing the masses about the world around them and providing bipartisan information to ensure that the youth goes out to go vote.
How will you reach your customers?
Usually through word of mouth or through Linkedln.
How will you make money?
Speaking fees at college or hosting events.
What kind of partners will you need to make, support and distribute your solution?
We are looking to partner with any politicial groups on colleges campuses or high schools to speak with students about politics. We also would be fine with partnering with any institute that focuses on learning or voter education.
What will your expenses include?
Travel expenses for GetPolitical can be pretty pricey, the Long Island Railroad is our main means of transportation.
Also we need money to attend events such as the Next Generation Summit with is also pricey to attend.
Who is your competition and how do you differ?
I am fearful of both the public school system and the misuse of social media platforms.
The school system both public and private cannot be trusted with this sort of thing especially being that we have issues with both liberal and conservative students having their first amendment rights suppress simply for breaking free of the intellectual ghettos they are compelled to be apart of.
Also, social media sites do not make is easy for users in the political setting to see unpopular opinions when people are being blocked from their websites. Most users are only exposed to people that think the same way as them and this is not representative of the actual world around us.
Everyone has a bias. Every source must be questioned. Every argument must have a counter. It is disheartening that not everyone believes this is true.
