What problem does your solution solve?
The Boss Mixer solves a problem that myself and millions of others have, which is trying to have accurate proper nutrition during our hectic lives. We solve that problem with our proprietary technology that allows you to easily store multiple powdered supplements you may take through out the day or on the way to and from the gym.
What’s the market potential for your solution?
The Boss Mixer will have a market of about 900,000 people in Midwestern United States. This market will grow as we expand to other regions of the U.S. and more people begin to use supplements. Our target market consists of men and women who live in the Midwestern region of the U.S. and regularly take at least one supplement for their workouts. These people will have active lifestyles and be between 20 and 30 years old. The health and wellness market is a 227 billion dollar industry which we plan to attack with full force.
Who are your customers?
Our product has many customers and consumers. We have B2B licensing opportunities with companies who sell nutrition supplements such as GNC, advocare, herbalife, Vitamin Shoppe ect.. Also the B2C market will be huge. We have segmented our market and have strategies to target them directly.
How will you reach your customers?
We will have a grassroots campaign that starts in Kansas City and spreads throughout the Midwest during our first year in business. There are numerous marketing strategies we will pursue to increase brand recognition and sales. A Kansas City radio station, 96.6 the Buzz, has agreed to give Boss DNA free advertising for one month. Another way we will market and sell our products is by setting up booths in different local gyms and fitness expos. We have already gotten permission to set up these booths at Life Adapted Fitness, Ruby Jeans Juicery, and Potbellies in Kansas City. We have also gotten a letter of intent from Onelife Fitness for retail, promotion, and marketing. Onelife Fitness has roughly 4,000 active members in Kansas City. We plan to travel to many fitness expos around the country with a sales team who will receive 5% commission on each product they sell.
How will you make money?
Yes we will be profitable. As discussed in previous questions our target market is those who take supplements from age 20-30 male and female. Our bottles price point is strategically placed at $40 which puts us slightly above the competition for valid reasons. Our production value is going to be somewhere around $5 giving us a margin of 87% roughly. This will not be all profit however due to customer acquisition costs which will be determined in the future.
What kind of partners will you need to make, support and distribute your solution?
We will need partnerships with major retailers, amazon, large scale manufacturing plants, all companies whom we may license the bottle to, and freight companies.
What will your expenses include?
Our main expenses include: Prototype development which includes injection molds, paying a videographer and photographer to help build a successful Kickstarter, traveling expenses to get to California to pickup the prototype (Which would include us bringing it to over 300 gyms and nutrition shops looking for letters of intent to sell), and Web developement.
Who is your competition and how do you differ?
Our competition includes the Umoro One Shaker, the Promixx Vortex Mixer, and the SmartShake bottle. The Umoro One Shaker is a mixer bottle that has a compartment on the top section. The contents of the compartment remain isolated from the liquid in the unit until the user presses a button at the top of the bottle that releases both the contents in the compartment and the shaker ball. The user then shakes the bottle to mix its contents. This allows the unit the function as either a regular bottle or a protein shaker bottle at the touch of a button. It retails for $26.99 The Promixx Vortex Mixer is a mixer bottle that has a motorized mixing function. There is simply a button at the base that is pressed to mix the contents in the unit. This motor is powered by two AAA batteries and the bottle retails for $28.99 The SmartShake bottle is a mixer that has three separate compartments. Our bottle puts the best of all bottles on the market into one sleek and sexy design.
